Distribution
Breeds in the mountains of north-eastern Asia.
Winters in south-eastern Asia and Greater Sundas.
May also winter in central and southern India.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Broad-leafed forests, forest edges, scrub, plantations and wooded areas.
Behaviour
Solitary, frequents the lower storey but will also feed in the canopy. Often quiet and unobtrusive.
Diet
Their diet consists of small invertebrates, fruit and berries.
Breeding
The nest is placed in a tree hole or on a branch; it is cup-shaped and formed from moss, grass and plant fibres.
