Identification
Female of this species show a little white area behind the eye, have white tips on the forked tail, and lacks the white streak on lower central back found in other Starthroat species. It seems to be the Starthroat species with least speckling on the throat.
Distribution
South America: found in Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, central and southern Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and northern Argentina
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Mid-level humid forests and dry savanna.
