Identification
Distribution
Argentina and Chile north of the Bio-Bio River. In Chile found north of the Black-throated Huet-huet, the distributions don't overlap.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1] which in the past has been considered part of Black-throated Huet-huet.
Habitat
Temperate forests and forest edges, where the bamboo Chusquea culeou (Coligüe) can be found between large trees, which are needed for nesting cavities.
