Genus: Anthracoceros
Description
Five species of Hornbill found in tropical Asia.
- Medium-sized Hornbills
- Black-and-white plumage
- Large casque (casque of female almost as large as that of male)
- Feed at nest by regurgitation
- No white on back
They are superficially similar to the African Hornbills of the genera Bycanistes and Ceratogymna.
Taxonomy
Anthracoceros is a genus in the family Bucerotidae.
