Distribution
South America: found in the Andes of western Bolivia (La Paz, Cochabamba and western Santa Cruz).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1]; an additional subspecies bejaranoi is not accepted by all authorities[3].
Moved to genus Asthenes by Clements (2010)[1] and IOC (2010)[1].
Habitat
Moist montanes and high-altitude grassland.
