Identification

16cm. Brown and buff.

Distribution

Ranges in Indonesia (Greater and Lesser Sundas), southeast Borneo, Philippines, throughout Australia including Tasmania, and New Guinea.

Taxonomy

A recent split from Clamorous Reed-Warbler

Polytypic, there are four subspecies:

Habitat

Reed beds and dense vegetation on the shores of lakes, rivers and creeks.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes insects.

Breeding

It builds a deep cup nest from woven reeds, lined with fine dry grass and feathers, in among dense reeds. The female incubates the eggs.
