Identification

30cm. Grey upperparts and underparts, black-brown rump, white forehead, chin, throat, grey collar, black upperwings, patterned underwings, black bill, flesh legs and feet.

Distribution

Australia, French Polynesia, Japan, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Norfolk Island, and the United States.

Taxonomy

Monotypic.
