Identification

Madagascar Harrier Hawk (Madagascar Gymnogene) Polyboroides radiatus

Distribution

Madagascar: occurs throughout the island from Senegal to central Ethiopia and south to the Cape and absent only from the most arid areas of the Horn of Africa and the south-west. Resident, possibly nomadic in some areas.

Habitat

Forest, woodland and cultivated land, including banana plantations, up to about 1,500m.
