Hi, Im looking for a good pair of compacts and have shortlisted Opticron Taiga 10x25 and Nikon Travellite 10x25. Ive also read good things about strathspey 10x42 roof prisms at £60 and Inrpro Optigra 10x30 at the same price. Any comments on the cheaper pairs?

Hi mosschops, I've briefly tried the Nikon Travelite 10x25 and found them to be quite pleasant. Nice grip in the hands thanks to the rubber covering and bright and sharp to look through. They are very light too, you will hardly be taxed carrying them or wearing them around your neck. As always, if possible, try your shortlisted binoculars first hand - specifications are one thing, handling and view are an individual matter. Have not tried the others listed, so can't comment.
