Yes but it's hardly a mild winter you're having... remarkable indeed.I believe that Sandweich Tern does occasionally overwinter on the Irish/SW British coast, and may becoming more regular of late (global warming?)

Nothing much to add to my lists, but following near completion of house improvements, I have discovered that if I sleep the wrong way round on my bed, I don't actually have to get up anymore - picture taken from the bed :t:

Seriously...you've opened up a potentially interesting thread there Jos!
Birds seen from one's bed.....I've had male Sprawk in one open window across the centre fixed pane and out the other open window whilst in pursuit of a Blue Tit.(with me under the covers). Also Hobby, Hawfinch and Goshawk from the horizontal...needless to say I hit the vertical instantaneously on each occasion! :t:
When I lived in a small village in the UK, I had all three species of Woodpeckers from my bed in the same year.That's a young Great Spot...that you shot in June..

It's too hot here for one! Until about May anyway...its too cold over here for a hammock
