Yeah, excellent company and a smashing walk as always. Mick’s a great lad, with a fantastic knowledge of the local area – I’m just very disappointed with his choice of football team that’s all!:eek!:;):-O Happy New Year, and all the best for 2011 folks! Cheers, Dougie. PS, you forgot to...

Hi Andy, There were two Little Owls in Trow this afternoon, photos below.... One of them regularly sits on the branches of a Whitebeam tree, which actually grows out of the rock face towards the north end of the quarry, and is quite easy to see. The other bird sits in a rock cavity, towards the...

Hi Folks, Big thanks to everyone for the positive feedback, and many thanks for the kind offer Gordon, but it’s really not necessary mate:clap::t:. The rescuer/carer has had reward enough in the fact the Bittern has pulled through – he’s absolutely delighted (as I’m sure we all are)… The bird...

Boldon Bittern Hi Folks, I can confirm that the ‘Boldon Bittern’ was indeed rescued from an almost certain death, just before Christmas. The bird was literally picked up off the ice on Testo’s pond on Christmas Eve at around 4pm – it was in a very bad way and would definitely not have...

I remember one ST bird race a few years back, when a solitary Greenshank was picked out in that very place (RA). It literally was the only one, and partially hidden in amongst 1000+ other Waders and at distance - great stuff Cheers, Dougie.

Thanks Rob:t: Now't too complicated I'm pleased too see - as that's about the level of my kitchen/cooking skills:eek!:, but I’m sure the birds will appreciate my efforts, whatever the finished dish - and that's the main thing, of course… Nice one about the book loan, will be in touch mate:t...
