Hi Kestrel, keep up with the postings, its through people like you that the true picture gets out. the hunting fraternity can spin as much as they like but we know the reality of whats gone and is still going on in Malta. Hopefully one day in the near future you and others like you will be able...

BirdLife [Malta] report reveals increased levels of illegal hunting

David i can see where you are coming from but I personally find it frustrating having to argue the toss with someone who seems in denial with what happens every year in Malta. Fair play Martin stick to your track , you are on the right one! Of course we have problems in Britain, believe me...

BirdLife [Malta] report reveals increased levels of illegal hunting

Let's face it that is the heart of the problem, the maltese authorities are not implementing the law. I honestly think it's time they were booted out of the EU as they are a total waste of space, its ok blaming the hunters but i'm sure their attitude would change if the majority of the...

What impact for Birds at local landfill site?

As its mostly Gulls that scavenge at these tips i personally think its a good thing that that the food supply is being withdrawn. Perhaps it will curb gull numbers and reduce them in areas where they never used to be, they really are a pain in the arse. Theres nothing quite like seeing a...

Malta: Unparalleled slaughter of migrant birds of prey

At least the law was enforced in this case. Whats the excuse over in Malta, are you all deaf and blind that you can't see whats going on, of course not, you just turn a blind eye to it all because its something that's always happened. Well get it into your heads that pretty soon one way or...

Malta: Unparalleled slaughter of migrant birds of prey

Put pressure on your government then, this issue is just dragging on and on. How many more birds have to be blasted out of the sky before these so called minority are forced to change their ways. As has been pointed out before , various schemes are in place in different countries aimed at...

Turbines 'no risk to farm birds' (BBC News)

That's the problem though isnt it! The amount of windfarms planned for certain areas will almost certainly affect populations, especially some of our rarer more specialised breeders

Malta: Unparalleled slaughter of migrant birds of prey

What's really sad is that the EU are doing nothing about it, chuck Malta out and cut off all trade links with them , @rseholes

    CABS autumn Malta bird camp

Isnt it about time the EU forced the Government of Malta to put these idiots out of action or if they can't do that throw Malta out of the EU. If they can't or wont force these idiots to obey the law why should they benefit by being in the EU. HOW MANY MORE YEARS IS THIS GOING TO BE ALLOWED TO...

Fire brigade defends bird rescue (BBC News)

In this day and age where we are all being told to economise on our use of everything, it does seem to me that this is a complete waste of money. ps i would go for the high powered sling in my sack ;)

BBC Wales; Not In My Nature

My only concern about this and the number of other similar programs is the amount of disturbance caused to rare creatures in making them. The CCW seem to hand out disturbance licences to these tv companies at a drop of the hat. Yet you try to get one to work on any of these species and see how...

Sorry to rake up wind farms again....

Is global warming something that we can stop or is it all enevitable. Lets face it its a good wheeze for governments and various buisinesses to make an extra buck with these green taxes. It certainly aint doing anything for our weather other than making it wetter and colder. Where is the warming...

Sorry to rake up wind farms again....

The blades travel so fast it wouldnt matter if they were covered in fairy lights and tinsel. Most of these mountain top sites are shrouded in mist most of the year so any birds forced down by these weather conditions would only briefly hear these turbines before being sliced to nothing

Sorry to rake up wind farms again....

Its all about money. The windfarm nearest to me cant be producing that much energy as more often than not they are not turning. Its us who pay in the end, as if we aint paying enough for our electricity already. One local politician came out with the absurd statement "what would you rather in...

Sorry to rake up wind farms again....

You are correct Pop, this government will do anything to get around objections. Wait till id cards raise their heads again( its on the backburner for now, losing the personal details of 25 million people saw to that). Lets face it Labour have run their course and its time for the dour Scot to...
