Hard to get any detail from the photo but I'm wondering about a cranefly larva.few shots of Hoopoe, has anyone any idea what its eating, pointed snout, stiff rear end?
Steve.
It looks like the flower spike of Drimia maritima. Fairly common and recognized by the enormous bulb with large fleshy green leaves when it's not flowering. Thanks Steve, anyone know what the flowers are? Mike
The snake most often seen in s'Albufera is the Viperine snake. There are some other introduced snakes (e.g. Montpellier's snake) but, as far as I am aware, no vipers (i.e. adders). If anyone knows for sure, I'd be interested.Great report Craig, most enjoyable.
Viper and Ringed Plover at salbufera and flower from the Boquer.
