2007 List - Predictions for First Entry? (7 Viewers)

Given that my feeders have been abandoned by all wildlife except for the squirrels, I can't count on the blue jays or the house sparrows to show up first thing on New Year's Day. So my first bird will likely be one of the neighbourhood crows (American crow, that is).

First bird of 2007 (identification confirmed): American Crow.

However, before I saw the crow I saw what was likely a European Starling fly by, followed by some type of gull. Given that I could not positively identify them, the crow is honoured as my first bird of 2007.

I expected my first to be a house sparrow or northern mockingbird which are very common at my apt. And I was right. House sparrow was number one and mockingbird was number two.

I thought that the starling would be my first bird, but the American Crow turned out to be my first bird of 2007.
