Arkansas, USA - Female Downy Woodpecker?? (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I recently took a photo of the back of a bird with very distinct coloration. I believe it to be a female Downy Woodpecker but I wanted to get your opinion. Thank you for any help you may provide!

Black and white warbler. Pattern wrong for the woodpecker. Woodpeckers have characteristic stiff tail feathers they use for balance. They are lacking here

Black-and-white warblers do creep about on trunks and thick branches rather like woodpeckers or nuthatches.

Welcome to the Forum, TravelinBirder. That is a male Black-and-white Warbler you photographed, doing what it does.
