Another Lifer yesterday

Took a while to get it and only a quick, but clear, view but happy to see.

Finally managed to add Fieldfare to my life list (and year list)

169. Black Throated Diver - lifer
170. Black-Necked Grebe - lifer

171. Brant Goose - not a lifer but only the second time I've seen
172. Sanderling - lifer
173. Turnstone - lifer
All seen at Southend-on-sea

I think about 68 - almost half are of which are from New Zealand

Edit: On looking closer more than half (35 to be precise) are from NZ!

That’s good going in the U.K. anything fun left to get?

For the UK I I'm only on about 144 so I've probably got a fair few things which are fairly achievable
Some off the top of my head include Slavonian Grebe, Red-Throated Diver, Bearded Tit/Bearded Reedling and Dartford Warbler

A good place for bearded tit's is rainham marshes, two good areas for dartford warblers are 'iping and stedham commons' and 'blackdown' (the latter having had wintering great grey shrikes). Both areas are also good locations to see woodlarks. A great location for Slavonian grebes is KGV reservoir however you need a permit, which are relatively cheap and are available at the Walthamstow reservoirs warden hut- the area also currently has a wintering greater scaup and red-necked grebe.
