I am not necessarily a new birder, but i need help with attracting cedar waxwings to my yard, the reason i am asking now is so that i can prepare over the next few months.
Cedar Waxwings generally stay around crabapple trees, dogwood, and serviceberry. You can also put berries i your bird feeder (If you have one that works).
In my part of Nevada, the favorite foods at city parks and suburban areas seem to be crabapples and juniper/cedar berries. Pyracantha berries are also highly favored where available.
