MrSk8 and I were walking through the park today snapping pics, and a small bird was in the photo way up on the treetops. I didn't even know he was in the photo until we got home, so it was quite exciting as a new birder!

I don't know if this is too vague or far away for any type of ID, but I would truly love to know what bird this is. Thank you!

Thank you so much! I looked him (her?) up and it's a beautiful little bird. Can I please ask how you could tell with such a blurry pic? I'd love tips so that I can learn to ID them myself in the future.

A good field guide, like "Sibley's Guide to the Birds", and lots of field practice. Reading these posts and seeing how others respond to their identification challenges also helps. Good luck.
