This morning, at about ten o'clock, I saw a sparrow sized bird, with distinct, round spots on its breast, sides and probably belly. The overall color was tending towards yellow and the bird was plump. I had only a fleeting glimpse of it, on the ground, near some bushes. My guess is a wood thrush but it might have been a hermit thrush. There have been hermit thrushes about, this winter. Are there any suggestions to mehelp determine the species?
Happy bird watching,
