New here, and as my name says, I'm really not a bird guy but this was so unusual I'm curious.
Driving through a landscaping nursery in Stanton at about 5 MPH and one of these landed on my antenna, then moved over next to the sideview mirror. Shortly thereafter a 2nd one attached itself to my antenna, then moved to my windshield wiper. They stayed for a good 5 minutes. I've done some Google searches but nothing seemed to be an exact match. Been in So Cal all my life, have never seen these. Wondering if they were somebody's pets who escaped. There are many different immigrant communities here, including large Asian and Central America populations, so possibly (illegally) imported from elsewhere? I don't think they are native, but I really don't have a clue. Forgive the somewhat blurry photos, I was driving when I took them.
Any and all info is much appreciated. Thanks in advance for all replies.
