Hi there!

I'm visiting a friend in Peru and am using my free time wisely... :)
Unfortunately my wildlife guide doesn't answer all my ID questions, so I was hoping you could help me figure it out. All of these birds were photographed near the south Peruvian shore.

Thank you!

Anne

Hi, I'm assuming that these were seen almost at sea level (bellow 500 m) and at southernmost Peru. These are my suggestions (note I'm not experienced with all of these species here):
1-2: a Sicalis finch, apparently Raimondi's Yellow-finch (a nice endemic species); I'm not experienced with this species, but the other possible option (Grassland Yellow-finch, a species I know) is not a good match.
3. Chestnut-throated Seedeater, male
4. Groove-billed Ani
5. Shiny Cowbird
