Question about Hooded Orioles in SoCal (1 Viewer)

oops..subject should read "hooded"

I have had many Hooded Orioles at my hummingbird feeders this spring/summer. They are magnifecent to watch, though a bit sketchy, taking flight in an instant when spooked. They have been feeding all throughout the day for a few months. There have been several pairs and juveniles. However, in the last few days I have not seen them? Do they migrate away from southern California at this time of year? I sure miss them and nothing has changed in my environment, yard, etc. Any idea? Thanks

Yes, early migrating passerines start migrating to South and Central America at this time. The shorebirds and other non-passerines have already started, and its possible for your orioles to have too.
