Vortex Razor HD country of manufacture (3 Viewers)

Been searching for a pair of used 8x42 Vortex Razor HDs, but apparently the country of manufacture has varied from Japan, China, and the Phillipines. Is there a guide by year or serial number to determine where Razor HDs were manufactured?

Before 2018 they were made in Japan, then they switched to China. The move to the Philippines happened a few years ago, maybe about 2021(?). The country should be specified on the side of one of the barrels right beside the hinge.

It's been strong speculation that the Vortex HD and UHDs were made by Kamakura in Japan and the Viper Series by Kenko in the Philippines. I heard statements about some of the construction or assembly moved to China over the past few years but I cannot verify this. These series especially the UHDs have a strong resemblance to other similar competing companies in this category.

I would think so regrading the UHD. They're very similar to some Blaser, Maven, and Sig, models.
