Ring Flash (1 Viewer)

Has anyone had any experience with the sub $100 Ring Flash units as found on ebay?

As I only plan to infrequently have need for one, I was wondering to what degree they compare to brand name devices.

If you've purchased and used such an item, I would like to hear of your experience...

I suspect they will work OK. They are simply multi LEDs like the new headlights that sell for less than 50$. The question is how they will interface with the camera. At worst, they should at least work manually like the old flashes, which is not really a problem in most macro work.

Hopefully, a user will report here. I'm also interested.
