Acorn woodpecker on a tree Snag
Took a few pictures of this acorn woodpecker on a dead tree snag--and in this photo, if you look closely, you will see the woodpecker has a tasty morsel in its beak. Also, what's cool is, you can observe the classic woodpecker balancing act - the feet are up high, nearly level with the beak - but the woodpecker stays balanced by keeping its tail pressed to the wood below, for support!
