Close encounter with owl.

A break in the weather finally! I pack my gear and and set off to bike the trails and dikes. I see eagles ,kingfisher,red breasted sapsucker and this fabulous owl. Late afternoon and I'm heading home and decide to check an out of the way pond. Nothing but some crows making a ruckus when all of a sudden this owl swoops in and lands in a tree about 15 ft away. I snap like crazy for 20 minutes while it stays around. My first barred owl and a magical experience with this curious bird. I guess it liked my company better than the crows I had heard earlier!

Close encounter with owls is a unique experience one remembers forever. There is a certain magic in face-to-face contact and gazing of those deep intelligent eyes...
