There was a Northeaster blowing, it was damp and cold. The wind pushed the tide in exceptionally high and the wading birds were sheltering in freshwater ponds just inland from the coast. There is a Tricolor Heron on the left, a Snowy Egret, Woodstorks, White Ibis and Roseate Spoonbills in this group. The waders can't feed easily on days like this, the water is too deep in the marshes.
