Once common the Beach Stone Curlew is now on the threatened species list. This one of a pair was sunning itself at Point Vernon Quensland

Thanks Ken it was a very lucky shot I had just walked onto the beach when both of them broke cover from under the cotton trees, the very low angle was because I was laying on my stomach on the sand
