Bearded Reedlings at Minsmere

"Despite some similarities - and its name - scientists have decided it is not actually related to the tit family, Paridae (which includes blue, great and crested tits).

It was removed from the tit family and placed in Paradoxornithidae, the parrotbills, before further research revealed it belonged alone in its own family, Panuridae.

They're still beautiful, whatever they're called, aren't they Tony! I wonder how long it will take me to get used to saying "reedling" instead of "tit! LOL

You've a super picture of this wee group - very well done laddie.

Interesting info. I remember to have read about it in the past. Still named a "Tit" here.
To me the utmost beautiful tit. Sorry for my taxonomic incorrectness.
Worse can be found everywhere.
Hey, I like your beautiful capture of these "birds" in their habitat. LOL.
