Did someone say Alligator?

Location
Town Lake at Fireman’s Park, McAllen, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA.
Date taken
April 2023
Scientific name
Trachemys scripta
Equipment used
Canon
Excellent!! gorgeous photo of this clutch of turtles, Stanley, hope the alligator is not around lol, top marks, many tfs!!

Oh goodness! What a fantastic capture, Stanley!

Raccoons are supposed to prey on them.
Otters and foxes also, although foxes probably rarely predate them since they spend most of their time out in the middle of ponds.

Most major population control occurs when the turtles are barely the size of dollar coins.
