Eastern Pond Hawk (female)
Eastern Pond Hawk (Erythemis simplicicollis: Libellulidae) These dragonflies range in total length from 3.6-4.8 cm (1.4-1.9 in) and are sexually dimorphic. Excluding site specific areas overall this is our most common dragonfly. This female was photographed along the margin of the largest of two ponds in Central Park, College Station, Brazos County, Texas, USA. Post Oak Savannah Vegetational Area. Man-made pond in a disturbed post oak/juniper/yaupon woods at ca. 250 ft elevation.

A fantastic image of this dragonfly Stanley. I captured one of these the other day I think, but did not know what to call it.
