Thanks, all. I assume this is the same bird I have seen on several days. Yesterday, I was lucky to be in the garden with my camera when it returned. It was wonderful seeing how deftly it teased the seeds out of the head. BTW, my wife grew those sunflowers from a free packet of seeds and they were probably her most successful flower of last summer.
