Kestrel
Half way home now. Generally I call in at Warton Crag near Leighton Moss, as there's a cheapish filling station at Carnforth.

Soooo a late lunch and see what's about. Not nearly so busy as a few months earlier would have been with the Peregrine's and Jackdaws nesting, but a nice stop nevertheless.

This bird hove into view (I've been assured it is a Kestrel) . It was a bit high in the sky... and where were my bins.... in my brother's sitting room!!! Taking a picture was the only hope of getting an ID.

The most important issue is that you had your camera at hand and let me tell you girl, this is a mega fine record shot ;)

Are you sure its not a Kessie Delia? Well captured, and congrats on a fine newbie lass, if it is?

LOL no I'm not Mali. I really didn't know at all, so sent the pictures to a friend who's my mentor on birdie things.

And it appears you're correct... I misremembered the conversation I had with him. Oh these dreaded SM's :-C

Caption now corrected.

Nice one! I've been indoors all day (not a bad day, got a quilt basted together) but now I feel like I've had a great day out as well |=)|
