The new Spring look ;) (Cardinalis cardinalis)

The poor thing but she kind of has a different kind of beauty with this look.
Location
Myrtle Beach SC
Date taken
April, 2012
Scientific name
Cardinalis cardinalis
Equipment used
Nikon D90, Sigma 70-300mm
I was hoping your birds would be past their moult by now, poor thing. Or is this due to something else? I have pics of Blue Tits like this, but I thought it was down to the stress of feeding their young. I guess some guys like chicks with shaved heads, so hopefully she will find one Cuz, LOL.

Oh dear what a shame. Like Mali I have seen birds like this but have never been quite sure what had caused it. Nevertheless, she is a lovely little bird KC. tfs.

Oh what a shame for her. I suppose it's a mite that causes that. Good luck to her.

A good picture to capture this KC.

Only her "feather dresser" knows for sure. Still got the top knot though. Bet she will be a real beauty if a few weeks, nice KC.

Different indeed ;)...really amazing,KC. Anyway your photo is superb,my friend !

Hair dresser fees are rocketing at the moment, she has my sympathy,KC!!.Besides, she looks great in that setting. :t:

You had a similar one last year - I've never seen one in that condition. Perhaps some Rogaine would help? Nice capture, KC.
