I really didn't expect to get a decent pic of this bird, it was 8:45pm and I had a converter on which gave me a 60th @ F5.6 hand held, it just goes to show that it is always worth taking the shot.

lovely shot steve pin sharp,how did it sit still to get the pic they are allways darting about.
 
This photo is really first class but taken in the conditions in your description above, it is fantastic. As you say "take the shot" look what we would have all missed if you HAD NOT!
