Hello all, I think I've got the differences between Whoopers and Bewicks having observed a mixed flock at Shotwick Fields today. I believe on the attached I've got on the first shot two Bewicks in the background and a Whooper to the right and to the front of the picture.
On the second shot I believe I have from left to right of the shot Whooper, Bewick and Leucistic Whooper [as reported on North Wales forum]
I'm going on the fact that the black on the beak of the Bewicks is more extensive and goes well past the nostril and the Bewicks beaks are slightly shorter and less concave than the Whoopers?
Have I got it sussed!?!
