    What's the rarest bird you've had in your garden?

    Not actually in garden, but flying over Osprey and Peregrine. In garden probably Waxwing and a trio of Peacocks that were in the area a few months before disappearing.

    Suffolk Birding

    Grey Phalarope showing well in flooded field at Southwold harbour today. Walberswick side of the River Blyth about 100 yds from pedestrian bridge towards coast. Several people watching and getting good views.

    Great Leica Service

    Excellent recent service from Leica. One eyecap broke on my 7 year old 8/32 Ultravids (shouldn't happen I know) about 2 weeks ago. Phoned Leica and a replacement arrived in post 2 days later. Unfortunately the wrong size so I returned new one with old broken one to them. Correct one plus a spare...

    I would agree with TZBirder. Back colour looks wrong to me for Amethyst. It is not just Marico's that look like this on the back, but agree Marico is by far most likely.

    Would agree with Jos. A few photographs can complement an illustrated guide though as with Cotingas & Manakins.

    Fieldfares, Redwings, Birds of Prey, Little Egrets, etc

    Seen lots of Redwings but no Fieldfares yet. Increases in Wpigeon, Magpie, Wpigeon, Goldfinch, Wpigeon, Jackdaw, Wpigeon, Chaffinch, Wpigeon. Decreases in Greenfinch and House Sparrow whilst Starling sporadic but still sometimes reasonable numbers.i
