Description
This genus contains only one species, Gould's Shortwing.
Taxonomy
Heteroxenicus is a genus in the Family Muscicapidae.
It was formerly placed in the family Turdidae, but genetic evidence showed it to belong to the Old World Flycatchers.
Gould's Shortwing was formerly placed in genus Brachypteryx
