Family: Pnoepygidae. Cupwings
Description
This family contains several species of Cupwings from southeast Asia. All are very small and almost tailless (only six short tail feathers) and have scaling on underparts and also upperparts. They also occur in two colour morphs and share a thin bill and tiny front claws.
They live in the undergrowth and can be very difficult to see.
Taxonomy
Pnoepygidae is a family in the Order Passeriformes.
It was formerly merged in Timaliidae.
