Genus: Seleucidis
Description
This genus contains only one species, the Twelve-wired Bird-of-Paradise from New Guinea.
It's the only Bird-of-Paradise where the thighs of the male are bare.
The male has twelve elongated central shafts of flank plumes which form the wires.
Taxonomy
Seleucidis is a monotypic genus in the family Paradisaeidae.
It has affinities to the Riflebirds and to the Paradisaea Birds-of-Paradise
