Identification
Length 11 cm
Grey with a black eye-stripe, red rump, black tail, and black vent.
Similar Species
Similar to Black-tailed Waxbill, but has a shorter tail, is paler, the bill has a red base, and the thighs are red.
Distribution
Africa: found in western Angola and extreme north-western Namibia. (Cunene River).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Cinderella Waxbill has in the past been placed in genus Estrilda
Habitat
Semi-arid savanna and scrub.
Behaviour
Diet
The diet includes seeds, flower parts and insects.
