Disambiguation: Green White-eye has also been used for subspecies virens of Cape White-eye.

Identification

Distribution

Africa: an area from eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo to Uganda, North-western Tanzania and western Kenya.

Taxonomy

Formerly a part of African Yellow White-eye.

Subspecies

Three subspecies are recognized[1].

  • Z. s. stuhlmanni: North-western Tanzania to western Kenya and Uganda
  • Z. s. reichenowi: Eastern Zaire (mountains north-west of Lake Tanganyika and south-west of Lake Kivu)
  • Z. s. toroensis: Lowlands of north-eastern Zaire to western Uganda
