Genus: Gymnorhinus
Description
This genus contains only one species, the Pinyon Jay from North America.
In bill morphology and feeding behaviour it resembles the Nutcrackers. This is the result of convergent evolution as both exploit large, nutritious seeds of pines.
Taxonomy
Gymnorhinus is a monotypic genus in the Family Corvidae.
