Talk:Zebra Finch - BirdForum Opus

I have a male and female pair of zebra finches. 3 days ago their eggs started to hatch. Its a small nest in a small basket and i think there are 4 fat babies in there! Anyway the parents seem to be feeding them and the babies are not cold or stiff. They are a bit warm and moving around. Im in Los Angeles and we are having a heatwave. My house...inside...stays at about 80° and 70% humidity. Question... I see the finch pair trading off and goimg into the nest to feed the chicks. But i also see the parents spending alot of time during the day outside of the nest. Is it because it is so warm theparents dont need to stay in the nest with the chicks? Thanx
