Teign Estuary and Hackney Marsh - BirdForum Opus

River Teign Estuary and Hackney Marsh NNR

England, Devon

Overview

The estuary runs from Newton Abbot to Teignmouth, in the area of South Devon known as Teignbridge. The Estuary proper starts at the A380 flyover across the top of the estuary, and flows down to its mouth at Teignmouth/Shaldon.

The north bank has a railway running along its length: the south bank is accessible for most of its length on footpaths, but can also be walked at low tide on the foreshore (signed as the Templer Way).

From a hotel/inn near the flyover (Passage House) you can also walk up river into the Hackney Marsh NNR.
