Hi, I wanted to leave it with the marks of the various falls on purpose. Now it is nice and clean in its caseWhile I understand the purpose of the test, it was a bit painful to watch.
The experience was compounded by the fact that the binocular armor wasn't even wiped/cleaned in between the tests. That made it look like the binocular was unloved.
These look like they got a little too close to the campfire.A friend of mine recently sent me these images of his CHD 10x42 which he purchased new on release.
They haven't been "abused", just used by a keen birder in a range of habitats and weather conditions.
He demoted them to backup when he purchased a pair of HT's a couple of years ago, but they are his main pair currently whilst the HT are in for a service.
Aside for the slightly uneven rotation on the focus wheel, they are perfectly functional.
2 weeks in Oman...These look like they got a little too close to the campfire.
That's what I expect a pair of heavily used binoculars to look like after >10 years of use in all sorts of weather and different climate zones.

How does the HDX stack up against the Nikon Monarch HG 10x42? Looks like the Nikons still hold an edge with FOV, weight, and a more compact size.
