The past few days weather has been characterised by howling South Westerly winds and occasional light rain.
Yesterday 16th May a brief stop at the Petrified Forest car park led to us getting straight back in the car, as we could hardly walk against the wind, consequently birds were also few and far between.
The gale continued overnight with us waking up to rain puddles mixed with red sand.
Very few recent reports of scarce birds except rosey starlings which we’ve only connected with , through a fly bye flock of about 20 at Sigri yesterday.
Some images from me :
Sigri. 16 th May
Hoopoe & short toed eagle
Sigri 14 May
Juvenile eastern orphan warbler
Icterine warbler
Anaxos 14 May
Eastern sub alpine warbler
