My review of MINOX HG 8x33 (MIG)
I own the MiJ 8x33, MiG 8x33, and the MiG 10x42. With all due respect I see quite a big difference between the MiJ and the MiG with the German made being much clearer and brighter and bigger. Least Bittern
I have a pair of Least Bittern nesting back at a small frog pond/wet land on an ajoining property here in Ohio. I've been watching it/them each day. At first I only saw one and it built what appeared to be a platform. Over time I noticed two and now there are eggs in the nest! Very fun to watch...- FJDave

Broken eyecup on HG
Before I purchased my MIG HG's I called Minox USA with a few questions. One was about warranty and the friendly guy I spoke with said they can repair eyecups at their facility but basically everything else had to be sent overseas. So my guess is they may be able to be repaired at Minox either... -

Best 6x roof for the money?
Awesome, thank you! I think I'll probably order one next week. I will probably have to go angled though due to my height. I'm 6'5" and it would either take a mighty tall tripod or a lot of bending over to go straight I'm afraid. I liked the idea of straight and a car window rest though... -

I certainly don't want to argue but I took post #10 as someone who compared the two. Chris Galvin stated "As for the ED50 I have tested this against an ED50 last weekend and to me the GS52 GA ED was brighter, sharper and with a wider field of view". That was why I said what I did. Thank you. I've done some reading and it gets very good reports. I can't seem to find it in the US for pricing though. Thanks. I looked it up but he decided to keep it. Wonder how he likes it? :) It was straight and I probably need angled. Ex-Demo Minox HGs
The German made ones say "Made in Germany" on the focus wheel. The Japanese one that I have says "aspheric lens" I believe...I'm at work and it is not here to check. I have the MIG 10x43 and really like it. Very nice view indeed. :t: -

New Minox HG 8x33 arrived...
I was back and forth as to what to buy as some of you may remember. I began leaning much toward Nikon Se's but since winter is right around the corner and these Minox were getting scarce I went for them first. Now I'm actually leaning toward the Swaro 8x30w porro's next but that's another story...
