They arrived around 1.15pm but weren't there for long today and weren't feeding on the berries over the road. Just seemed to flit around the tree tops and moved on after maybe 30 to 45 minutes. Sunny days seem to be best, that's when they stay for long periods. Paul.

4 Waxwing here again at Hanham Rd this afternoon, now that the rain has stopped. A 5th bird joined them for all of 10 seconds before it moved off elsewhere. Paul.

Yes they looked great this morning, there for a long time too. I was out at 7.30am in the garden with the camera and then on and off for a couple of hours after that. Shame there was a stiff breeze blowing which made it difficult for me to get the feather detail. I was trying out one of my home...

Yes, they feed regular on the berries at Bakers View, they spend a minute feeding and then come back to the trees on my side of the road. I live on the corner of Hanham Road and so I get good views of the birds. Plus I work from home which is handy. They will go elsewhere for hours at a time...

Seen the Waxwing here at Hanham Rd at 7.30am the last two mornings when I let the dog out. Looked lovely this morning in the sunrise. All taken with Nikon D3300 at 600mm. Paul.

Sure, that would be fine. They only stayed for about half an hour this afternoon so it would have been hard for anyone to see them unless they were already here. I think some people turned up after I made the report but I don't know if they were in time or not. I guess these four birds are...

Last Friday was a good day, they were here opposite my house from around 11am right through till around 6pm. Not been here at all this weekend yet though, maybe that's it for now. Paul.

Had Waxwings on and off at the end of my road (Hanham Road) in Corfe Mullen for the last couple of weeks. Not there every day but has been every two or three days I guess. Paul.

Some of the responses to nairny have been pathetic and childish. Paul.

Had a Blackbird nest just 2m from my kitchen door and enjoyed watching the 4 young being fed for the last couple of weeks. Yesterday they left the nest and were hopping all over the garden. Unfortunately due to local felines, 4 have now become 1 but thankfully the last one has managed to get...

I see that Poole Park model boat club has negotiated a 3 year deal with Bournemouth Water to start using Longham Lake for sailing their boats. Also talk of having a pontoon built to make it easier to launch boats etc. They plan to sail on Tuesday's and Saturday's and hope to increase weekly...

Similar story here on the edge of Canford Heath nature reserve that my garden backs onto. Today I had Siskins, a pair of Bullfinches, loads of Goldfinches, Chaffinches and a few Greenfinches. Had a male Blackcap yesterday for a while, lots of flocks of various tits all mixed together (Long...

I flushed a Jack Snipe when I was walking round the lake a couple of years ago. It was in the rough stuff just over the fence where the new lake is now. It shot up right in front of me and flew off across the lake. Paul.

Seen a lot of Goldcrests in my garden this week, certainly more than I have done other years at this time of year. I get them most often in winter but never usually see them in the garden the rest of the year. Paul.

The small road off Ringwood road is a little way past the Aston Martin garage. Just after the garage there is a pub and then a row of houses. The lane is at the end of the row of houses. It's a very short lane and at the end of it is a gate leading to the new lake. Another lane to park in is...

I live in a road off Portesham Way so looks like it could have been around here most of the day. I saw it at 4.10pm edit - I guess that could also be the place Portesham :) Paul.

Had a very good views of a Red Kite flying over Canford Heath this afternoon. I live close to the nature reserve and it was south of my garden only about a quarter of a mile at the most. The 'V' shape in the tail was unmistakable and had clear views of the markings etc. Paul.

Had a chat with the bailiff and asked him would he mind us parking as my wife is disabled which he could clearly see. He said no and came out with some feeble excuse about planning consent and local residents might object which was a bit of old waffle. Asked him if he knew a good place to park...

The Slavonian Grebe at Longham was showing well this afternoon and I got some nice photos. Taken with 600mm lens and 2X teleconverter. Quite a few Sand Martin, a few Swallows and a couple of Shelduck. Didn't do a long walk as had the children with me. Shame you can't park in the fisherman's...
