    EL 10x42 casing deterioration.

Peter, If you scroll to the ancient times of BF you'll find several answers on your question, but in short the estimate of BB is right. Having said that, often I see prices of optics far below the regular wholesale price, something you won't see with the big three. for example, not so long ago...

    EL 10x42 casing deterioration.

Yes, but.........when perfection is promised and the slogan is to improve the best, the brand has to understand that trust is earned. Of course one can dispute if a half mm and one mm difference.......... sigh Jan

Hi Peter, .........not entirely free from conflict of interest........ Well, at least is says everything about your way of thinking as it does to the others who are just trying to express their expertise. Jan

    EL 10x42 casing deterioration.

Jos, It's not a matter of believing or not from my part. It's the only explanation I can give for this problem which occurs on all bins. We get bins back of which the armoring sticks on your fingers like glue. Some turn grey because of some kind of grey powder/dust (looks likes residues of...

    EL 10x42 casing deterioration.

Peter, OK, this is a foreign language for me so let me explain it in the most simple way so I hope you understand me correctly. What you sell most comes back most. There is no difference in return percentage between CL, EL, ELSV , ELSVPro, SLC etc if you take the sold volume and the return...

    EL 10x42 casing deterioration.

Hi Jos, Good for you, but be aware of the fact that all brands come back with this issue in my shop. The fact that one brand get more Flak compared to others in this matter caused by the quantity and not the quality issue. I have seen spectacle frames and watch bands go to S***T due to the use...

    EL 10x42 casing deterioration.

Hi James, No, AFAIK there is no difference in the returning rate between both. To be absolutely clear: If it was otherwise I would tell! Jan

    EL 10x42 casing deterioration.

Hi Lee, Yes, it occurs more at Swaro because it is sold more, so to say it is confined to this model is a bridge to far for me. FWIW, no optics brand is in the business to loose name and if any rubber supplier brand could bring a armor for the optical industry that would not degrade under...

    EL 10x42 casing deterioration.

Most deteriorations are caused when exposed to DEET, gasoline (we have had a lot of Marine Steiners back with more deterioration I've ever saw on a Swaro bin) and/or SPF oil. By far is Swaro our best sold brand and 80% of our customers use them for far destiny travels (read: using Deet and SPF...

    EL 10x42 casing deterioration.

Hi Wolfbirder, I am 100% sure Swaro will replace the armor for free, but looking at the "damage" of the many visible scuff marks........... It is hard to believe they occur while walking carefully with them round your neck within two months. But if you say so, who am I not to believe you. Jan

    EL 10x42 casing deterioration.

Hi Temmie, You are absolutely right, but don't you think that if any of them could improve the armoring, so that it wouldn't happen, they would? These mfrs are optic geeks, not rubber geeks so they depend on third parties. Maybe they should consult Durex..... Jan

    EL 10x42 casing deterioration.

Comparing the prices of the Swarovski models with those from Zeiss and Leica I don't see any price tag issue. I do see a significant "we take care of you" difference between these brands. Shouldn't the .....warranty is paid through premium prices.... count more for the other two and isn't there...
